Prompt: Scambio di universi/personaggi bla bla
Fandom: Fate/Grand Order
Pairing(s): Edmond Dantès (Avenger)/Ritsuka ; Edmond Dantes/Haydèe
Edmond was sitting in his room, enjoying a smoke that Sherlock Holmes left for him hoping to gain an ounce of his trust. Heh, he was so delusional. Suddenly, he turned his head towards the door as he heard a familiar voice calling him.
“My dear Count…”
“Haydèe? What are you… How did you manage to come here?”
The girl smiled at him; he could understand from the fact that her body was lightly transparent that she hadn’t been summoned as a Servant – she wasn’t a Heroic Spirit, to begin with – but that, somehow, her Spirit managed to find her way to him. He used to hear her voice during his life, watching lovingly over him and warning him about dangers.
“I’m not from the place you Heroic Spirits come from. I am the essence of the real Haydèe… the one you loved during your life.”
At her words, the man laughed bitterly.
“And you still keep on calling me Count? Isn’t it time to use my True Name already.”
“I know that you do not wish of that name to be used the way you are right now.”
Even if he had resigned himself about abandoning his love to his past – a love that could never be truly his, as he was just the shadow of the true Edmond Dantès, who had her heart – he couldn’t help but be affected by the sweet words she had for him. He knew he had gotten past it, but her sweet smile – which resembled his Master’s a lot – was too powerful. Fate had always been harsh with him, even when he was alive. But, even now, he continued to suffer. What grim fate the one he had. The lover he had when he was alive resembled so much the one he had now. As a Heroic Spirit he knew that he couldn’t even begin to have any kind of romantic thoughts about his Master, but…
“I’m here because the one you love now wants to see your past self; I guess she was curious about the man that discarded his vengeance, and who could blame her?”
The girl smiled mysteriously. Edmond couldn’t bear to be in her presence much longer.
“Haydèe… I think you should go. It’s not right for me to meet you here,… You belong to someone else, as you said before. And I…”
“My dear Count, I know your thoughts and your feelings as they were mine. I do not require an apology, my dear Count.”
It was true. Words between them were unnecessary.
Hearing some noises from downstairs – Edmond knew that they came from the Command Room – he kind of dashed toward the place. He knew that his Master had already accepted him for how he was but… what if she preferred him instead of…? The thought was preposterous, but the man couldn’t even deny completely the possibility.
